Hi – I’m using the Yoast All in One SEO plugin and it’s not reading the content. The them I’m using has shortcodes to position the text but the YOAST plugin is saying that I have no content and no keywords.

I’m concerned that the search engines might not read the text either?

    Thanks

    Chris

  • The Yoast plugin reads the text that’s written, not anything that’s placed on the page through short-codes. If you add some real text you’ll be fine. I understand that this doesn’t quite work with your shortcods, but that’s just life.

Thanks. Can the search engines read the content within shortcodes?

    Cheers

Yes. The shortcodes are rendered before any HTML is given out of the program, so what you see on the site is what search engines see.
