    Hi,

I’m experiencing an issue with Yoast plugin and I need some assistance in order to continue using it. My hosting provider told me:”Your Yoast plugin is trying to create a new session for each query without checking if the current session is active.” They are saying that the queries should be optimized.

My users are getting an Error establishing a database connection because of this.

Hosting provider sent me these logs:

  • Hello @petarristic!

We’re sorry you’re having trouble using the Yoast SEO plugin. I imagine this can be frustrating for you.

There have been major changes to the developer hooks and the database starting with the 14.0 update. Can you please confirm that your server still meets the minimum plugin requirements?

    Hi @onlyincebu

    Thank you for responding!

To be honest it is frustrating because I worked really hard to earn my users trust and now occasionally they get an error page in the middle of a quiz. Which is annoying for them.

I checked with my hosting provider, they checked everything and said that it is on recommended settings. MySql Ver 8.0.20, PHP and WordPress versions are also on recommended.

Could you help me fix this?

    Kind regards,
    Petar Risti?

    Hi @petarristic,

That is frustrating! Just to be sure there isn’t a conflict, we’d like you to Check for conflicts to see if this error still happens if you?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Nineteen.

If there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a?new GitHub issue?for our developers. Please report the issue to a third-party developer as well.

    Hi @priscillamc

The developers of the theme I am using assured me it’s not a problem on their end. Unfortunately, I cannot deactivate all my plugins and switch to a different theme because my website is live and has users 24/7.

    Kind regards,
    Petar Risti?

    Hi @petarristic,

We can imagine that deactivating your plugins or switching themes?on a production site?isn’t the best way to go. Have you ever considered setting up a?staging environment?for your tests? This means that you can do all the testing and only change the live site when all works like intended.

Your host might be able to help
Some popular web hosts offer quick setups for a staging site so please contact your web host for assistance. They will probably be able to help you out.

Alternative options to set up a staging environment
If your web host does not offer staging sites, the WordPress plugin repository offers?staging?plugins?or you can?create your own staging site.

    Hi @petarristic ,

We’re closing this thread because we haven’t heard back from you in a while. Should you have further questions, please open a new thread.
