  • Hello @humzaarain!

What version of Yoast SEO are you running? Can you please make sure you’re updated? The latest version is 14.9. Please also make sure that your WordPress (5.5.1), theme, and ALL other plugins are up-to-date.

Just an FYI, with the latest WordPress core update, plugins (or themes) running older codes may cause conflicts with other plugins. If you’re running a plugin that hasn’t been updated since the release of WordPress 5.5, try disabling that and see if it resolves the issue.

    Hi there,

I have all plugins up to date…
Let me check if there is any plugin whos update isn’t arrived yet after the WordPress’s Core Update.

I will get back to you in a while after checking all of these…

    Regards

    Hi @humzaarain,

Do keep us posted on what you find. =)

If you do find a plugin or theme that is not been updated or tested with 5.5, please check if temporarily disabling it fixed the Yoast loading issues. Older code, plugins or themes can conflict with more recent code added in WordPress, or any other plugin or theme for that matter. You can also find more information on how to do a conflict check here if necessary: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/. Hope this helps.

    Hi there,

I have tried to troubleshoot this issue and using this troubleshooting plugin while I’ve enabled only YOAST in troubleshooting but still facing the issue it’s not showing the options… Theme was also set to default.

    Regards,

    Hi @humzaarain,

    Thank you for your troubleshooting.

Hmm, that is odd and unexpected. Do we understand that the issue still appears when you enabled the Troubleshooting mode in the Health Check plugin when Yoast SEO is the only active plugin and when you use a default theme such as TwentyTwenty? If so, we would recommend trying to reinstalling the Yoast SEO plugin. You can simply deactivate and delete the plugin first, then reinstall the plugin by using the Add plugin button under the Plugins page and searching for Yoast SEO.

If the issue then still happens. We would like to know what Javascript error is happening when you see the empty metabox. You can find those using the steps mentioned here: https://yoast.com/help/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/.

Thank you in advance for troubleshooting this again.

Completely deleting and Re-installing will effect of my data i.e The site Tittles, Meta Description I’ve added for each post?…
If its so I’ve to backup all of these before deleting the plugin?

    Hi @humzaarain,

Thank you for your reply. Sorry that I missed including that information in my previous reply. No, you are not expected to lose any title, description, settings, or previously entered data, those are all stored in your database. They remain there.

    Thank you for your reply.

I just installed Plugin after deleting it but still same issue.
While Inspecting Javascript error I found lots of error, I’m not pretty sure if there is any causing issue to yoast.

Here are the screenshots of the errors

    Regards,

    Hi @humzaarain,

Thank you for your reply and for providing these screenshots. All errors which show ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT are either a browser extension such as adblockers or privacy extensions that block things. Those are probably not related to the Yoast SEO issue.

The first 2 screenshots with Javascript errors will be related. We see that in both screenshots, it shows that you are using the Classic Editor experience. Are you running the Classic Editor plugin? If so, what version are you running?

Apart from that, the other error mentioning wpColorPickerL10n is not defined is a bug that was present in WordPress 5.5. This is gracefully fixed in WordPress 5.5.1, but we might guess that these issues are related to your theme that is not fully compatible with WordPress 5.5. Is the Publisher still actively maintained?

    Hi Thanks for your response,

I think there is an Extension that might causing this issue…

As I tried to run site in Incognito tab and Everything worked perfectly… sadly seems like there is an extension causing this issue. It was my Ads blocker, Just excluding my site from the ads blocker fixed the issue.

Apart from that I’m using Classic Editor Plugin to run Classic Editor.

Thank you soo much for the assistance.

    Hi @humzaarain,

Thanks for getting back to us with an update! We’re glad to know that you solved the problem with Yoast SEO.

For the other errors in the browser console, we recommend checking for conflicts if you’re not sure what theme or plugin causes them. You can contact the plugin or theme developers with the information you find.
