Yoast does not seem to automatically create a sitemap for my site. When I attempt to view it (MyWebSite/sitemap_index.xml), I get a “Page Unavailable”. Also cannot see the file in my file manager. Cleared cache: no change. Any ideas??

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @jelliott2014,

Thanks for reaching out regarding your sitemap. I can confirm that your sitemap index returns a 404 error. Can you check that the feature is turned ON in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Settings > General > Features > APIs?

This is the image when I select “View the XML sitemap” in Yoast API’s:

    Hi @jelliott2014

Thank you for the screenshot. I noticed you are facing this page doesn’t exist when you try to click on “View the XML sitemap”. There’s a handful of causes depending on which sitemap displays the error.

    1. Kindly head to WordPress dashboard > Settings > Permalinks and click save without altering anything. Then try to visit the index sitemap and check if the issue exists.
    2. If you still receive a 404, check the rewrite rules for your server. If you are not sure how to check for the rules, which server you are using, or how to enter them, please contact your host provider.

Once you can see the sitemap from View the XML sitemap, kindly delete the existing sitemap from Google Search Console and then resubmit the index sitemap only.
