Hi. Some time between last week and this, with all the updates that have happened, my yoast tools have dissapeared from the edit section of posts.

The yoast icon is still available on pages. Just not on posts.

The post seo data has not disappeared, I just can’t see where to edit old, or where to add new for new posts. The icon is gone.

I have deactivated each plug in and checked – this is not the source.
I have recently upgraded the php to 7.3. I tried reverting the php to see if that was the cause – no it is not available.

I have uninstalled yoast and reinstalled. This didn’t help.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

  • We’re seeing an issue with Yoast versions 12.6, 12.6.1 and 12.6.2 on all sites we’ve updated in the past few days.

The Yoast SEO area on a page/post in WordPress does not load.

The browser console shows the following errors:

Uncaught TypeError: Failed to construct 'URL': Invalid URL - (analysis-1260.min.js?ver=12.6:21)

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot set property 'innerHTML' of null at d.renderIndividualRatings (analysis-1260.min.js?ver=12.6:21)

I’ve disabled all plugins except for Yoast and I’ve switched to the Twenty Twenty theme and the issue persists.

The error shows up for both the Gutenberg editor and with the Classic editor enabled. With the Classic editor enabled, we can’t see any content under the SEO, Readability and Social tabs to make any edits. Within the Gutenberg editor, we can at least see the content but there are loading icons next to each tab that don’t ever stop (e.g. the happy or sad score icons never show up.)

Reverting back to Yoast 12.5.1 resolves the issue.

Looking forward to the 12.6.3 release to resolve this issue.

    Thanks.

I’ve tried reverting back to 12.5, and unfortunately this didn’t solve my issue.

This issue still exists. I’m using version 12.6.2 and i have the exact same issue

@treeper, I’ve been researching and trying to resolve the issue. I’ll share with you my experiences.

I contacted Yoast support. They couldn’t promise anything, but assured me they would look into the matter if I purchased their paid plan.

I noticed that my Ocean theme was recommending Rank Math SEO, so I downloaded it as an alternative. And I imported the Yoast settings into it. Big mistake and the problem occured on Rank Math as well. However, on Rank Math I could easily fix it in the settings by enabling it for posts again. Yoast has no ability to edit the settings on the free plan.

I’m not comfortable with Rank Math either, so I am going to try SEO Framework, which doesn’t seem to have hidden issues.

@grapa Thanks for insights. Is this the same issue?

My sites are quite content heavy and it would take great amount of time to start migrating to other tools. Hopefully we can find a solution soon for this.

@treeper, I don’t think it’s the same issue, I didn’t receive any kind of error (though I didn’t inspect the page.) The good news is that my seo work wasn’t gone, just not visible on the post page (and I couldn’t add more.) I hope Yoast does fix this soon.

Just to confirm, is the option “Yoast SEO Meta Box” still enabled under SEO > General > Search Appearance?

Can you share a screenshot of how exactly it looks like on your posts?

@jerparx – apparently it wasn’t. I don’t know how that setting became unchecked, since I have never gone in an adjusted it. I could easily find and adjust it in Rank Math, but I was not able to find it easily in Yoast. I’m not sure if I’m going to continue with Yoast to be honest, I’m not happy that the only answer the email support team gave me was that I would have to pay before they could help me out. I’m also not happy with the negative reviews I read while trying to scour the net to research this issue. But I do thank you for replying on this thread and giving me the answe.r

Same problems here. Now with 12.7. installed the issues persist

    @grapa

Just to clarify. Did making that change resolve the issue?

In the config.php I had entries with relative URLs for WP_CONTENT_URL and WP_PLUGIN_URL. Switching to full URLs solved the problems for me.
