I’ve been trying to update meta data for individual pages on my WordPress sites, however, after pressing save it resorts back to the previous text. New information not saving.

‘Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.

Any advice on how to resolve this would be appreciated.

    Hi @leonardwoolf,

We understand you are facing updating failed.

Can you kindly perform conflict check on your site?

I already have this plugin installed and site is in good health.

After installing the recommended plugin and checking the site’s health, you actually need to perform a proper conflict check. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty-Two.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.

Thanks. The HCT plugin is already installed and suggested deleting inactive themes and plugins. I’ve done this, but the issue remains. I’m a little nervous about deactivating all plugins in case this creates other issues. I might look at upgrading to premium for technical support.
