  • Hi @nicolo89,

    Thank you for reaching out.

We understand that you’ve optimized your meta description and other information on your site, but you don’t see this reflected in Google.

There are a few reasons why the updated information is yet to be seen on Google. First, it can be because you just recently changed some information and Google hasn’t recrawled your pages yet. If you did recently update it, please have some patience while Google recrawls your pages.

Second, the exact meta description Google shows depends on multiple factors, such as location, the exact search term, and so on. We explain multiple reasons why this might happen here: https://yoast.com/help/my-meta-descriptions-arent-showing-up-in-the-search-result-pages/.

    Hope this explains.

    Hi,

It happens the same to me.

I’ve read the article and none of the possible causes listed seems to fit. The only one could be “Search engines ignored your preferred meta description”, but it sounds strange to me. I’ve done several webs and introduced titles and meta descriptions with Yoast Seo and this had never happened before.

Theme, WordPress and Yoast SEO ara updated. Any indication of what could be happening?

    Thanks!!

    Hi @webmastermagnifik,

Thank you for chiming in. However, if necessary, we would like to help you out too or check what might be off, in case that’s needed, please create a separate topic so notifications keep personal.

In any case, yes Google might decide to show a different meta title or description if it seems fit. Depending on multiple factors, it might show up a (totally) different description or title. We have another help article going over this too: https://yoast.com/help/my-seo-title-isnt-displayed-as-i-have-entered-it/.

The conclusion is that, even when a title or description is set with Yoast, there is no guarantee that this specific text will be used for all searches where this page shows up.
