    Hello,

Can anyone help me with changing my meta title and description? If you look up my site on Google, “Katie’s Portfolio” comes up twice but I only want the first one.
And also my personal details come up in the description when I want to change it to a sentence about the portfolio.
I’ve tried it in Yoast and did this to all the boxes but no luck: https://imgur.com/a/DMznszF
I’m also trying to hide my portfolio from coming up altogether in search but it still comes up when I type the name into Google.

Here’s what it does at the moment when I search my site: https://imgur.com/a/1igRrhi

    Anyone know what to do?
    Thanks

Please try to set the SEO title and meta description for your homepage by going to your website’s admin dashboard > SEO (sidebar) > Search Appearance > General, and editing the homepage section. Could you please also provide the URL to your site so we can check if it outputs correctly in the page source? You’d also want to try doing a SITE: search for your website so that it won’t have any search term manipulation.

Do you mean that the Yoast SEO meta box is loading for your pages but not your posts? Can you please confirm that the SEO and Readability are enabled on the posts? You can check this by going to your WordPress dashboard, and then going to SEO > Search Appearance > Content Types and seeing that the Yoast SEO Meta box for Posts says “show”? Also, check if Yoast SEO is ticked in Screen Options on the upper right-hand side when editing a post.

    Hi, the site is https://katiehennessy.ie/

I just searched it with site: in front of it and now it shows the default theme text. I changed the page data in each page, I couldn’t find the option in the settings. Is that right?

Google’s cache of your homepage includes the wrong title.

    cache:katiehennessy.ie

It can take up to a week for Google to index the changes you made, depending on how often your website is crawled. So for now, we’ll have to wait for Google to crawl your site again.

Sometimes you can speed up this process as described in this KB: Fetch as Googlebot
