Yoast %%excerpt%% not generating Meta Description

    If you check the About page, or any Shop Products, you will see in the Source code that there is no meta descriptions.
    However in my Yoast settings I have :
    %%excerpt%%
    set in both the Pages and Products’ Meta Descriptions field.
    Why are no descriptions being generated?

    Thanks for reaching out here. We are sorry to hear that you’re having trouble outputting the meta description using the %%excerpt%% template variable.

    By default, Yoast SEO %%excerpt%% template variable only outputs the meta description based on the content available on the default content editor and when there’s no meta description manually added.

    So, can you please confirm whether you’ve added the content to the default content editor? If you are unsure about this, please share a relevant screenshot in which you highlight the content that you have added to your site so that we can take a look at it? How to include screenshots or videos?
