    I am getting an error message in wordpress from yoast. Anyone know how to fix it.

    Ryte offers a free indexability check for Yoast SEO users. The request to Ryte to check whether your site can be found by search engines failed due to an error.

    Error details: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 5000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received (http_request_failed)
    If this is a live site, it is recommended that you figure out why the check failed.(Opens in a new browser tab)

    Go to Ryte to analyze your entire site(Opens in a new browser tab)

    This timeout will be increased to 10 seconds in version 16.4 – https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/pull/16953 I think that will fix this error.

    Sorry I don’t understand what you are saying.

    @avrahamberry1

    We understand you are concerned with getting a Curl 28 error regarding Ryte. We can see how this might give you pause. We are happy to take a look! Let’s see what is going on.

    The Curl 28 error, means that your server was unable to communicate to Ryte.com within the set time limit. This can be caused by, for example, a very slow webhost or a firewall. We partner with Ryte to provide a courtesy check. Your homepage is still getting indexed as it appears in Google here.

    Since this is a server issue, we cannot fix this for you. Please contact your webhost to investigate why your server is unable to communicate with Ryte.com. They may need to adjust settings or whitelist Ryte.com. This guide also explains more about how to whitelist RyteBot: https://en.ryte.com/bot/. They’ll also need to ensure your server meets our plugin and curl requirements. This guide explains more about the requirements: https://yoast.com/help/plugin-requirements/

    In the meanwhile, please note the Yoast SEO plugin will work well despite that notification.

    We hope that addresses your concern!
