    Hi,

I’ve used Yoast Duplicate Plug-in to duplicate a Course custom Post-type (defined by LifterLMS Plug-in) with its children and it only copied the first level (course post). Its children such as lessons were not included.

Eventhough there is a clone option provided by LifterLMS, it does not allow other users/authors to clone its content. As I have a multi-author site, I need to allow any author to copy any available course if he/she wishes to.

Anyone is able to help me with this?

    Thanks in advance,
    Sergio

    Hi,

We’re not exactly sure how you’ve created your Course custom post types with the LifterLMS plugin, but we tried creating a default test parent page with a child page, and when we cloned the test parent page, it created a new draft, along with a draft of the child page.

Is it this plugin? Could you also provide us with a few sample steps so we can try and reproduce this from our end?

Could you check your settings under your WP admin dashboard > Settings (sidebar) > Duplicate Post > What to copy tab > and ensure that the ‘children’ option is also ticked in the post/page elements to copy?

Hi Michael. Thanks for your support.
Yes, it is the plugin you mentioned.

I’ve double checked and ‘children’ option is ticked in my wordpress settings.

I would suggest, if you can, to download LifterLMS plugin (it is free for the core funtionalities). You will be offered to include some example courses when you install it (so that you do not have to create one on your own).
You’ll see that there are a couple of custom post-types this plugin defines. Being the main ones: ‘course’ and ‘lesson’. For example, one course usually contains a couple of lessons. This has a hierarchy where lessons are associated to a course. They are children of an specific course.

Let me know if you need any information or assistance with this to re-create a scenario where you would be able to duplicate a course and hopefully the course and its lessons would be also copied.

    Regards,
    Sergio

    Hello Sergio,

Thanks for highlighting the steps to replicate. We could see post types such as ‘course’, ‘quiz’ and ‘lesson’. You mentioned that when a Course is cloned, the dependent lessons are not cloned with it. Since we are not familiar with this plugin, can you share with us how to check the lessons associated with a specific course to eventually know if it was cloned or not?

Furthermore, in WordPress > Settings > Duplicate Post > Permission, do ensure to check the boxes of the Roles allowed to copy.

    Hi Maybellyne.

You can check the course lessons through the Course Builder/Constructor. To know how-to access and use the course builder/constructor you can check this link: https://lifterlms.com/docs/using-course-builder/

I confirm that the roles that I use (Administrator,Editor,Lms Manager) are ticked as well as ‘course’ and ‘lesson’ content types (as shown on WordPress > Settings > Duplicate Post > Permission).

Let me know if you need anything else.

    Regards,
    Sergio
