I just noticed the my Yoast SEO panel on the left of my dashboard is gone. The plugin is showing as active. I tried deactivating and reactivating, but to no avail. Logged out and logged back in, same thing. Is the new version of WP incompatible?

  • Hi,

We are not sure why that is happening but we do know Yoast is expected to show and is compatible with WordPress v4.9. See: https://pasteboard.co/GU5Go3p.png. We would like some more information.

    1. Does clearing your caching from your plugin, theme, server, browser, or CDN such as Cloudflare resolve the issue? If you are not sure how to clear your server caching, please speak with your host provider. This guide explains more about how to clear browser caching: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-clear-my-browsers-cache/.

2.Did your host provider make any changes, perhaps with the server on their end which may have resulted in the issue? If your not sure we suggest speaking with them for more information. They may need to pull server logs and look for any possible errors or issues.

    3. Does installing the plugin manually via File Transfer Protocol resolve the issue? This guide explains more: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/#manual When you do that, you are not expected to lose any SEO data or settings.

I just tried all three of those per your suggestion, but no luck.

This is so odd. The hosting company claims to be able to see the control panel as it should be. I’ve tried three different browsers and two different user accounts, to no avail.

    Hi,

If you go to Users-Your Name can you confirm you have the right user role such as admin? If you can confirm you have the right user role such as admin then that sounds like a plugin or theme conflict. Can you try and gather as much information for us as possible? Please perform the following:

    1. Check for conflicts using this guide: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts?

    2. Check for JavaScript errors with your console with this guide: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console

If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/ for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.

If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium here: https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/ and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

This happened to me about a month ago. I deactivated, then re-activated the plugin which corrected the problem for me.

I have the same problem, that @skillsusa

my panel disappeared, it’s like I never had the pugin.

This problem has been happening for 1 day, for me after the new version.

And worse than I was trying to buy the new version or install again and I can not, the worpress installation says I can not because the plugin is already installed, or the folder that I intend to install already exists. Anyway, I need some help.

@horadaviagem we see you opened a separate topic for this issue. We’ve just replied to you.
