I have been getting the following error while trying to upload images

“Post-processing of the image failed likely because the server is busy or does not have enough resources. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2500 pixels.”

It is only happening when I am using Elementor to create or edit a template file. Editing pages in both Elementor and Gutenberg works fine.

Having reverted to a simple theme and disabled all plugins, after reintroducing plugins one at a time, it is only when Yoast is active that the problem occurs.

I have tried uploading several different images of varying sizes, none of which are anywhere near the file size mentioned in the error message.

Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

    Thanks

We’re sorry for the trouble that might be caused by our plugin. We expect few more information about your setup. This might help us replicate the issue on our end:

    1. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO v15.9.1?

    2. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

    3. Can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.6.2?

    4. Are you seeing any JavaScript errors in your browser console?

    5. Does your server meets our plugin requirements?

We look forward to hearing from you.`

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    1. Yes I am on 15.9.1
    2. Yes all other active plugins are on latest version
    3. Yes I am on version 5.6.2 of WordPress
    4. Yes – I get an error “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 () – /wp-admin/async-upload.php:1
    5. The link you supplied to your server requirements doesn’t work – but I am hosted on a wordpress specialist hosting provider so I certainly hope so!

If I exit editing/creating the template back to the admin area then go back in again, the image I was uploading is listed in the library – but that’s an awfully long winded way of uploading an image! ??

    Hi @dustycat!

What you are experiencing is a bug. A fix (see here) is ready and will be a part of Yoast SEO v16.0.

We are not sure when that version will come out only that a fix will be a part of it.

In the meantime, we suggest signing up for our newsletter as that is where we will announce product changes and updates. You may sign-up for it here https://yoast.com/ by scrolling towards the bottom to complete the sign-up field.
