[Yoast] Canonical Tags

Hi, I am having a problem with Duplicate Content and Canonical Tags in Yoast:

Here’s an example:

For the page https://www.finca-und-ferienhaus-urlaub.de/tour-island/la-gomera/ I added https://www.finca-und-ferienhaus-urlaub.de/tour-island/la-gomera/ as Canonical URL in Yoast.

To avoid duplicate content, the canonical tag above should appear on paginated pages (for example: https://www.finca-und-ferienhaus-urlaub.de/tour-island/la-gomera/page/2/) – but it doesn’t. Instead, each page references itself.

Is this a problem with the Yoast Plugin or do I understand something wrong?
