    One or our client’s websites is not showing canonicals the right way.

    If you look at the URL, the Dutch version is correct, but the English version has a canonical to the Dutch website. If you look at other pages, like /over-ons/, the canonicals are set correctly for both Dutch and English.

    I’ve tested the following:

    • Deactivate all plugins
    • Use a default template: Twenty Twenty (I’ve added cases as Custom Post Type)
    • Activate Yoast SEO Plugin (which sets canonicals)
    • Activate WPML Plugin (which sets languages)

    With above settings, the problem still persists. If you’d like to test this, i can send a link to a test website.

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    We can confirm that the canonical tag being outputted for https://adresults.nl/awards/ is:

    <link rel="canonical" href="https://adresults.nl/awards/" />

    Can you share a screenshot of what shows in the plugin as the canonical URL for the English version? This can be checked in the advanced tab of the Yoast SEO meta box under the default WordPress content editor.

    Hi,

    Since it’s an archive page, I can’t set the canonicals manually. If I create a page for this archive and set the canonical, it changes nothing.

    Hello,

    Can you please reset the Indexables tables and migrations by using the Yoast Test Helper plugin? Please follow the steps below:

      Install and activate Yoast Test Helper plugin;
      Go to Tools → Yoast Test → Yoast SEO → Reset Indexables tables & migrations options to reset it;
      Run the SEO data optimization from the Yoast SEO → Tools page.

    Does that resolve the issue?
