Hello! I am having troubles or maybe just require explanation. The question is: Why my website title and description in Yoast SEO is completely different than what google shows?

First of all I am a rookie and just have started with the website and it’s optimization so I know that google may not like my title yet. Is it possible that you check if the indexing is good and if I just have to wait for the change?

Second thing is: Previously I set my title and description in Settings > General in WordPress, then I’ve set it in Yoast SEO. Should I put it in both places or just pick one and delete another? Do they somehow influence each other?

Looking forward to hearing from you
    Kind regards!

    Hello,

First, it’s important to note that the title and description you enter in our snippet preview is a suggestion for Google. If you’ve crafted awesome meta tags for your blog posts, nothing is more annoying than Google showing other information for your site in the search results.

Google’s generation of page titles (and descriptions) is completely automated. Google’s goal is to best represent and describe each result. They use a number of different sources to get this information. In doing so, they try to make the search results as relevant as possible. Due to this being handled on Google’s end, there is little you can do to force Google to display your preferred title and description other than changing them and testing which one sticks. What you have in WordPress > Settings > General will be the site name while setting for each page, post or category can be done in the meta box of the Yoast SEO plugin.

    Thanks.
