I want to update my website to PHP 7.1 Siteground has a compatibility checker … and it says that Yoast is not compatible. I went over to GitHub, but couldn’t figure out how to leave an issue. Below is the error:

    FILE: /home/dianneth/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/vendor_prefixed/ruckusing/lib/Ruckusing/Adapter/Sqlite3/Base.php

    Thank you,

We do know that one of the requirements in order for the Yoast SEO for WordPress plugin to function well is that the PHP version is 7.2 or greater, as documented in this article — https://kb.yoast.com/kb/plugin-requirements/

Could you please provide more information on the compatibility checker? Is this a check from SiteGround?

In any case, we recommend that you do update to PHP 7.2.

Hristo from SiteGround here. It’s a false-positive result triggered by some backward compatibility code. We’ve updated our whitelist and you can re-run the check, it will go through without triggering an error at Yoast SEO ??
