@ppnsteve – How do you find the meta description character count ?. In the earlier version it used to show the count as we entered characters. How is it in the new version ?.

Puzzled – so now Meta description field as was is a snippet field? Not to beat about the bush here – but a snippet and a meta field do not sound or mean the same thing in web development circles

PrajwalDesai you are correct about the meta description character count it was usedul and I miss it. Thanks to PPN Steve I got a description that Yoat recognised as meta for my SEO. Nibb, you like me find the semantics of v3 a challenge

Wow I’m extremely disheartened. Can’t find title. Can’t find meta description. May have to dump Yoast for an inferior product, All-In-One, but at least they have the tools help fix pages.

Too bad. This was such a good plugin ??

What I feel is, this update should have been released as beta version first. So that others users using beta version could have reported issues.
@yoast Team – I have moved back to version 2.3.5 and will update to the latest version only when all the issues are fixed.

Am I missing something here. Several are asking where the meta description box is (version 3.0.3). I likewise don’t see it. But “About this Topic” shows the topic resolved.

Has anyone figured this out…or is it just a bug…

    PrajwalDesai

    (@prajwaldesai)

@smittyswebworks – Meta description box is just below the title option. You have to move the mouse to right hand side just below title, you will find edit option, there you can enter the description. But the sad part is it will not show the character count. If you leave it as it is, it picks up the meta desc automatically.

@prajwaldesai – I saw that comment above but I’m afraid it is not working for me. I’m at version 3.0.3. do I understand correctly that clicking on the edit for the snippet (snippet editor) should somehow show meta entry. Doesn’t work for me.

When you say “to the right hand side of the title”, are you talking about the snippet editor section of the SEO?

I know this should be simple, but somehow it is not…

    (@smittyswebworks)

@prajwaldesai – I just figured it out. When I click on the snippet, the current snippet – the excerpt from the page goes away and you can enter description. I was thinking that a label like “Meta Description” would show up with a entry box

    Thanks for the assistance…
