  • Agree. I am still on 20.8 — not sure how to proceed from here. Is Yoast looking into this problem?

Thanks for creating a new topic, @danniee001 I know how frustrating it’s when something doesn’t work as expected after a plugin update. In order to better assist you, we’d appreciate it if you could answer the following questions:

    1. Are you running the latest version of WordPress, your theme and plugins?
    2. Is the problem still the same after clearing your browser/site/server cache? This help article explains how to clear your WordPress cache.
    3. Does the problem occur if you use another browser (i.e. Chrome or Firefox) or when you enable incognito/private mode?
    4. Does the problem occur when all non-Yoast plugins are disabled and the theme is on a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-Two?

Please test point 4) on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

@melisaciputra to assist you more effectively, please create a new topic and provide the above information.

As you can see, this isn’t just one isolated user. There were many users who had this exact issue after the update from 20.8 to 20.9. I have now switched to Rank Math because you don’t seem to be able to fix the issue, but I think it would be in your best interest to do so. Whatever you did going from 20.8 to 20.9, you did wrong, so my best advice is for you to rollback what you did instead of asking for us to make changes to our sites. Everything else works great, Yoast is the only plugin that doesn’t.

    And to answer your questions…

    1. Yes, always latest updates.
    2. Yes, problem still persists after clearing all cache.
    3. It still persists no matter what browser.
    4. I can’t test this because I run a large site. I don’t think I should need to either since rolling back to 20.8 works. Hence, the issue is on your side imo.

Thanks for the additional info, @danniee001 I see how this issue has caused trouble on your website and we’re sorry for that.

We’re still investigating this issue; however, we haven’t been able to reproduce it yet, which makes it challenging to find a solution. While we’re unable to replicate it, we rely on our users and the information they provide to diagnose the problem.

In this regard, if you have a staging site where you can run tests, we’d kindly ask you to provide the following information (when you have time):

    • The result of the conflict check
    • List of active plugins and theme
    • Any failed requests appearing in the browser’s network tab when the problem occurs

In the meantime, we’ll of course keep investigating the problem and running tests on our end.

I am currently abroad and unable to create a staging site. I might try it when I get home, otherwise I will continue with Rank Math. Thank you.
