2 more failed orders with zero reports in the error logs and only this in WooCommerce order detail page:

“Could not process order. Order status changed from Pending payment to Failed.”

We’ve had consistent intermittent failed orders since implementing this plugin. I previously reported one of the bugs which you seemed to have fixed with an update. But this is getting ridiculous.

For now client has requested reverting back to PayPal Pro just so simple CC transactions don’t fail. I’m actually shocked that WooCommerce would release this plugin before ironing out the bugs, especially considering the notice that it’s recommended to replace PayPal Pro.

Without error messages in the log files how can we even begin to determine the problem?

Thanks anyway. Hopefully your team gets this fixed before the end of the year.

  • Facing the exact same issues – at least I think I am as it’s hard to tell with no log!

Been waiting for over a week now for a reply with heaps of failed orders on a production site and no idea as to what the cause is. Given this is the recommended PayPal plugin for WooCommerce you would think that an issue directly affecting huge numbers of sites financially would at least warrant a reply or at the very least some level of acknowledgment.

Apparently there are enough people experiencing no failures that perhaps they are not taking this matter serious. The site in question above is using the Divi theme. If the WooCommerce team has determined the failures to be related to a theme or specific plugin they should at least let us know so we can contact that developer.

    Thanks

If it helps at all here is a list of plugins we currently use, no Divi though as we use Elementor instead.

    • Query Monitor 3.7.1
    • S3 Uploads 2.1.0-RC2
    • Ajax Search Pro 4.21.3
    • Elementor Pro 3.4.2
    • Elementor 3.4.7
    • Premmerce Product Filter for WooCommerce 3.5.7
    • Purchase Orders for WooCommerce 1.8
    • WooCommerce Split Orders 1.4.0
    • W3 Total Cache 2.1.9
    • Advanced Shipment Tracking for WooCommerce 3.3
    • WooCommerce EU VAT Assistant 2.0.23.211019
    • WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packing Slips 2.10.1
    • WooCommerce 5.8.0
    • Wordfence Security 7.5.6
    • WP Offload SES Lite 1.4.6
    • We are facing intermittent failures regardless but my main concern now is the latest update(s) which increase the failure rate massively. We have since reverted to 1.6.1 which solves that but there are still high failure rates across the board when compared to our old solution. Unfortunately, the old plugin we used was no longer compatible with other updates and so our hand was forced and we had to migrate to this plugin upon WooCommerce’s advice.

Here is a GitHub issue I created on the above if it helps you: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-paypal-payments/issues/406

That is more related to the update but like I said our site is having issues with failed orders consistently and has done since the plugin was installed and as you mention in your first post they pretty much all have no log associated with them which makes it all the harder to diagnose or even get assistance with.

    Hi @joecreative007 & @torlockc,

Apologies for getting back just now.
Due to the holidays, it can potentially take a bit longer until we answer every support ticket and we, unfortunately, a few have slipped through here on .org recently. No excuse for that.
But we take every reported issue very seriously and are working towards providing more detailed status information within the orders.

The update 1.6.3 that was released yesterday provides some stability improvements that could be relevant for the reported behavior. We don’t see any reason why it would work better with version 1.6.1, as none of the stability improvements provided in later versions should negatively impact credit card payments.
One of the things we recommend beyond using the latest version would be changing the 3D Secure contingency to either “Always” or “Never trigger 3D Secure”, depending on which region you are operating from. The contingency that used to be the default until now (When required), may not work as reliably as anticipated until PayPal has implemented some additional updates on their end which is expected to be done early next year.

While both issues in this thread have a similar end result, it may not be the same problem causing it. We can best help out if you could reach out with a copy of your WooCommerce system report and your PayPal Payments log files as described here: https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/request-support/
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

Thank you kindly for the reply. I just updated the plugin. I’ve set the 3D secure to “Always” as you suggested, but I am not enabling this payment option yet and will continue to use the PayPal Pro CC processor since that isn’t having issues. This is because you stated above that you don’t see any reason for it to work better than the previous version.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Have you had many reports or is this rare?
