• I know there are many threads about the subject and yet I have the feeling that my problem is different. Here’s what happened.

I had the brilliant idea to add one category of a WP installation to another. I made a feed of that category, saved it and imported it in the other installation. The categories are tags are messed up, but far worse is that all posts are suddenly in reversed chronological order both in the WP admin and on the site. Thinking back, when I was trying things out in the test, the same happened, but obviously I didn’t pay enough attention.

It’s save to say that this isn’t an old WP or old MYsql issue, but something that goes wrong with importing. All good and well of course, shit happens, but after having been messing around for a few hours, my only option remains dropping WP, installing it new and importing the export that I made.

Of course I can only do that only when I’m back at home, so if somebody has a better option……….

Holy schmoley! I thought I tried everything and eventually decided to delete WP (did’t help) and even the posts table. After putting everything back things were back in order and when I started to reactivate plugins, the problem was back. It was the “Advanced Category Excluder” plugin. Argh, I should have begun with the obvious. This plugin was the last that I did before I started importing from the feed, etc. (part of the same project)………………
    Stupid me.

(Strange though that on another install, the plugin causes no problems.)
