    Hi,

I am running a blog install at
    expdesign.net/blog

I’ve installed a separate one at
    expdesign.net/wp_site
    but I will use,
    expdesign.net/home
to actually display the content when I’m ready to go live.

Can someone recommend a .htaccess file that will allow pretty permalinks to work? This will be a unique file that sits in the /home/ directory. I know this is covered elsewhere, but I can’t find anything that works.

    THANKS.

  • Out of curiosity, why not just install the second one at expdesign.net/home instead of /wp_site?

    Follow-up:

I moved one blog, so now I have a blog at the root: expdesign.net, and one here: expdesign.net/blog

There is no .htaccess file in the root, but I am afraid to change to pretty permalinks in WordPress, because last time I did that, I got error 500 and had to reinstall everything. I ‘ve made pages now, so I don’t want to have to wipe the DB and start over again.
