• I read the first 100 related posts, after I typed, “No plugins panel” into the forum’s search pane. I still have no idea why I have no plugins tab, in my administration panel.

    For the most part, people who have had this problem are people who have wordpress.com accounts. I have upgraded, so that is not it. I am about to go mental with this, because I’m starting to realized that most of the issues I’ve had with my site, stem from being ignorant to any such thing as a plugins menu…why did it not appear, after I upgraded?

    I would really like someone to help me resolve this problem, because I’m about to cancel my account. I’m just wondering if I need the CSS code upgrade, to make certain thing work, the way I need them work. If plugins are related to the CSS feature, then I”m really going to be angry, because there is absolutely no indication of that anywhere on my dashboard or anywhere else (that I’ve found…and I’ve looked, trust me).

    Can anybody PLEASE help me with this? Thanks!

    What do you mean ‘I have upgraded’?

    I mean that honestly. Do you mean “I installed WordPress on my own server, pointing it to my own database, and have since upgraded it” or … what?

    Maybe you can give a screen shot of what you ARE seeing and we can help ??

    Okay, sure…I can give you a screen shot. But first, what I mean by upgrade, is that I switched from “example.wordpress.com” to “example.com”. Is that a bit clearer, I hope? Let me know, if that part still doesn’t make sense (cuz then I’m just at a loss for how to communicate any problems, period)!

    ok, nvmnd….I can’t paste a screenshot? Ugghh..I donno’ how to show you what’s going on, now. Please be patient with me, I’m not the world’s most prolific forums user.

    Hi,All
    I have the same ghost Plugins subpanel,I’m hosting wordpress on my own server and using my own database.But the point is I haven’t got also other menu items ,except that Dashboard,Posts,Media,Links,Pages,Comments,Profile,Tools.
    Is it needed enabling menu items on menu.php?But also,I check this page and found nothing to do.So,I will be so glad if you can give me some trick about this problem

    @znichols1981

    If you are still hosted at WP.com you will not have the Plug-in’s panel. If “upgrade” was to move to your own domain name but still on WP.com with their DNS mapping and such you still will not get the Plug-in’s. That is a security and reliability issue. Bad Plug-in’s are a major source of problems on this Forum.

    Did you need to get a separate host account and install WordPress software and they transfer your content from WordPress.com to your new site?

    WP.com DOES give you an advanced list of Widgets to do many of the same things, they also have a built in Contact Form that with WP.ORG software requires a Plug-in.

    On the plus side, if you are hosted on WP.com there are many things you will not need to worry about that a self hosted account does.

    They have their own support forum:

    @fundakaraoglu: Don’t highjack another poster’s thread. Please post a new topic.
