Years and years of WP Multisite Network Requests

  • Hello,

    I see that there are many requests for Site Kit by Google to be compatible with WordPress Multisite Networks, spanning back multiple years, with the typical response being that feedback will be sent to the team, but is that really even a serious response? Does the team even care? If they did, they would’ve already fulfilled this oft-requested feature.

    That’s my observation, as I’ve also endlessly been waiting for Site Kit-Multisite compatibility.

    Thanks for reaching out @marcusanthony. We do make the team aware of each request for any feature that arrive here in the support forums, and this includes full multisite compatibility. That being said, there are many other plugin features, enhancements and adjustments that may take priority. We also conducted surveys to find that most of our users operate single sites, and engage with our users when determining the most requested features.

    We do have an open GitHub issue in relation to full multisite compatibility, which it sounds like you may have already viewed. You may wish to subscribe to that, or add your own comments to that thread to give it additional weight. I wish I did have a timeframe to give you for an update on this, but at this stage I can’t state when or if this will get addressed.

    Note also that while the plugin doesn’t provide full support for multisite networks, users can set up Site Kit individually on a multisite network, or even on a network if the sites within this network are independent sites of each other (see this comment from a related GitHub issue).

    I’ll bring your query up in discussion this week. I can assure you we do value all such requests. If I have any updated based on this, I will let you know here. Otherwise please do subscribe to #276 for updates. Thank you.

    Thanks for your patience on this @marcusanthony, and for raising this.
    I spoke with the team on this and while there are no immediate plans to prioritize full network support via?#276, given there were changes made for minimal support (see?#5871).

    They did state that because of the number of requests and responses in that GitHub thread, they may review this later this year, however, this is not on the immediate roadmap for any upcoming releases.

    While this isn’t what you want to hear, please do add comments or follow the GitHub issue for updates. Once there are any updates, they will be added there. Feel free to also follow up here later in the year if you wish. Thank you.
