YARPP Yet Another Related Post Plugin Doesn't use Modified Featured Photo

I’m having an issue I hope someone can help me with. I have some photos that I have attached to posts as featured photos. However, after posting, I wanted to crop them to clean them up a bit. I can use the built in crop feature of wordpress and successfully crop my image. Then when I go to my post, I can delete the image from the post and re-insert the newly cropped one. Not sure why this isn’t automatic, but anyways, this gives me the correct image.

The problem I am having is that, the YARPP related posts at the bottom appears to be using a thumbnail image from the original uncropped image. Is this because it’s just cached somewhere and I need to flush this, or is this the way YARPP is designed? Shouldn’t it just use the currently attached image of the featured image?
