    OK, I’ve tried everything.

I use Wp as my main site.

Whenever I try to use any type of contact form (which I’ve stopped trying to use) or NOW with wp-email (plugin that allows readers to email articles to friends)the mail never gets sent. Just ends up in my mail error log.

I have no idea what to do.

Also, I have index.php outside of wordpress and within wordpress. When I update WP, I’ve never updated the one outside of WP. DO I need to?

You may want to explain this… I am not sure I understand it. Do you mean you set up your blog according to
    Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory tutorial?

As for the mail thing: I remember once I had to install a WP blog on Y! and no normal mail setting worked, no contact form worked without some tweaking. You have to dig deep into their help files to find it and had to add their code to the contact plugin, if I remember well. Y! is not a normal host, they like to do everything differently…
(since then I don’t take any job that is hosted on Y)

    Moshu,

Yes, I meant that I followed the tutorial on “giving wordpress it’s own directory.”

I just checked the .index.php file and I it’s correct.

Do I ever have to update this? I don’t see why I would, but I really don’t know.

As for the email thing…Yahoo blows. It’s just that it’s the only service I know how to use.

I just went into wp-email plugin files and I think it has to do with htaccess rewrite. Just a guess. As you know, Yahoo doesn’t allow it and that makes doing certain things difficult.

    OK…Maybe I’m an idiot.

I wasn’t going to have anyone register for my site. I didn’t even have a registration button. They still don’t have to register to leave a comment, just include an email address.

But, I think the reason wp-email and wp-comment form weren’t working was because since users (really me doing tests) weren’t in the database, they weren’t found in the domain. Thus the error log message.

Now I have a register button.

So, is it possible to add a line of text in the wp-email form (when some clicks “Email This Post” that would say something like “You Must Be Registered To Email” ?
