Yahoo Hosting

I’ve been reading through the forums and doing searches and a lot of people don’t like yahoo for hosting WP – but those are all really old post/article (2005).
Does anyone have updated information?
A friend let me set up a WP on there website in a private area to play around with and it seemed to be easy-peasy.
Are there still problems with updates and permalinks, etc.
The only issue so far I’ve run into is a caching problem as in updates to the theme don’t update (created a separate post for that).
