Yahoo! Customizable Permalinks

Hey guys when I was using 2.0.1 Yahoo! installed it automatically for me and it also installed a customizable permalink plugin which made my links pretty from what they are now.. Due to the way it is set up now to use /index.php/blah/blah/blah trying to go directly to the folder itself /blog/ fails and the subdomain it uses fails as well.. the only way to get to the site is to access it at /blog/index.php which will load it correctly.. I hate that.. when the old plugin was activated it would allow me to use any of the permalinks and they would never show the /index.php/ and worked great and it also allowed the subdomain and redirections to load correctly.. now what I was wondering is if the below code would work with 2.3, I have no idea so any help would be greatly appreciated..
