As an update to this ticket – we’ve pushed a new release of the Export User Data plugin to GitHub – it’s recommended to test this on a staging or development server only:

As we have no feedback from test users, we are going to push the version available on GitHub to WP today.

    Hey Guys,

Sorry I never responded. I downloaded the update 2 weeks ago when you posted it, tried it, and it didn’t work. Sorry for my late response I was traveling and got backed up and wanted to give your new method of log tracking you mentioned. I will do that in the next day or two and post my error log on here so you can analyze.

    Sorry again for my tardiness!

No problem, we’ve delayed the push – please try to do some testing and let us know what you find.

Hey Guys. I saw you update the plug-in to version 1.3.1 so I installed it and tried it out. Bad news, still having trouble, but the log seems to read a bit different than before, so perhaps we are getting closer?

Any ideas on what to do?

Your error log is showing lots of notices from other BP plugins, please turn these off and try to export again.

Are you referring to the ‘bp-core-buddybar.php’ ? Because that is not a plugin we have installed externally…To me that sounds like a core function of buddypress no?

Yeh – I see that now.

The EUD log does show that it can access xprofile – so that means BP is loaded and all functions are available ( EUD XProfile Accessible )

However, it seems to find no data for any users – perhaps a timeout or some other error inside BP.

It also seems to have problem getting group data from BP:

PHP Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /nas/content/live/quackerfactory/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-xprofile/classes/class-bp-xprofile-group.php on line 416

I can only guess that some of these issues are due to the unique site set-up and differences between this and our own test install.

I thought that maybe the ‘bp-core-buddybar.php’ was a function of our installed theme, so i reached out to our theme creator and they said that it’s not part of there theme…

So what would you suggest now?

I will take a look with our web admin tomorrow and see if we can come up with anything. But if you have any advice please feel free to share!

We have no more suggestions at this time – the plugin is widely used ( over 10,000 active installs ) – and there have been very very support requests from the latest update – so the presumption is that in most cases this is working for most people.

All that said, we accept that some larger exports still cause problems and we have a long-term plan in place for how to deal with this – but this will not see the light of day until autumn – as we have a full-on work schedule until then.

Until then, I can only suggest that you play with the plugin options and server configurations to try to find a workable solution.
