xmlrpc.php and Windows Live Writer Error

  • I installed Windows Live Writer and I tryed to set up my WordPress blog with it… But when I must to select a provider and I choose WordPress 2.2+ and path of the xmlrpc file and click next I receive a error like this : “xmlrpc.php”->”Error 406″…

    If I try to open xmlrpc.php file from browser I see the following message: “Internet Explorer cannot read this webpage format”… I can read it only if I change its name…

    I’m not sure what an error 406 is for Windows Live Writer (WLW). Normally WLW would detect the correct URL for the XML-RPC end point. i believe loading pages with the pattern xmlrpc in the filename has been disabled for my account. This thing was working few months ago when i was on Windows 7. I start reblogging few days ago and tried using WLW and found this issue.

    Changed the permission of xmlrpc as 777 as well and saw the pho hack for global variable. it was also present. Still not bale to figure out the issue.
