xmlrpc disabled for DDOS attack: pingomatic and other service?

    I had to disable via htaccess the xmlrpc service cause it was used for a ddos attack to my site, https://www.lospaziobianco.it

    My housing service had insert thin in htaccess:

    RewriteRule ^xmlrpc\.php$ “http\:\/\/0\.0\.0\.0\/” [R=301,L]

    My question: upadate service like pingomatic in to Settings>Writing admin panel, are still working? I think not, but i’m not sure.

    And if the are not working, how can I protect my site from ddos attack via xmlrpc AND use update ping service?
