It should show ‘XML?RPC server accepts POST requests only.’ on a line by itself when viewed in a browser and should not have any blank links or extra output anywhere.

    I took a look at the XML-RPC file above and it redirects to https://127.0.0.1/ – which is your localhost IP. The reason that you are having trouble connecting is due to the fact that you are working on a localhost setup. Because of this, Jetpack cannot connect to your site.

    But there is good news! Since the 2.2.1 release, Jetpack has included a Development mode. This mode allows you to use some of Jetpack’s modules without requiring a connection to the WordPress.com servers.

    However, some of Jetpack’s modules still require this connection. This is why you’re not able to connect as expected.
