    I successfully uploaded my sitemaps for a new clients site to google search console but when I test the URL i keep getting an error

    ‘noindex’ detected in ‘robots’ meta tag

    I unchecked the box in the reading settings that discourages indexing

    last crawl was about ten minutes ago so i’m not sure why it wont work

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey @trenttarala,

    Thank you for reaching out. We understand you are confused about a noindex meta tag.

    Just to clarify, you mentioned uploaded sitemaps, we do recommend just to submit your sitemap_index.xml sitemap as explained here https://yoast.com/help/submit-sitemap-search-engines/.

    Second, can you let us know what URL(s) were mentioned as noindex so we can check?

    That is how I submitted the sitemaps and on google search console it says it was submitted successfully

    When i “test live url” for [ redundant link removed ] it keeps sending that same error

    hope that helps

    We checked your sitemap and homepage URL, but your homepage does not have a noindex meta tag, but a default index one:

    <meta name='robots' content='index, follow, max-image-preview:large, max-snippet:-1, max-video-preview:-1' />

    We are not sure why Google would be seeing a noindex on the page. We would recommend waiting up to 48 hours so Google can recrawl it at a later time, and if it continues to show incorrect feedback after that, we’d recommend reaching out to Google webmaster forums to ask this.
