    Hi everyone,

I am getting the infamous sitemap error which states:

“error on line 2 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document”

I understand this issue is caused from a blank line being present at the end of a plugin’s code. I have been through all my plugins and have still not been able to sort out the issue. I even uploaded my site to my back up installation of WordPress and funny enough the XML sitemap works perfectly there!

    Any ideas?

Did you also try switching to a different theme, such as Twenty Seventeen? Sometimes, the blank space is in the functions.php file of the theme.

I tried that and the sitemap still had the same issue. I am using the Divi theme

Unfortunately, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

If I upgrade to premium, is it 100% guaranteed that you will be able to fix this issue?

Anyways.. the Sitemap seemed to somehow sort itself out eventually.
