XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress – Page problem

If you create a Page in wordpress for your homepage it is redirected to the root by wordpress.

For example, https://www.website1234.org/homepage (where homepage is a Page you create)
is redirected to https://www.website1234.org

But, https://www.wordpres.org/homepage appears in the sitemap.

Google webmaster tools now reports on sitemaps with redirected items. Google does not like to see redirects in sitemaps.

I tried adding the Page id to the exclude list but it did not remove /homepage

I cannot exclude Pages completely as some important content is on them.

Is there a workout for this?
