    Hi there,

For some reason unbeknown to me, our SiteMap appears incorrectly formatted when opened incognito, with a string.

    https://www.sensors.co.uk/post-sitemap.xml 2020-07-30T11:11:51+00:00https://www.sensors.co.uk/page-sitemap.xml 2020-08-07T12:11:00+00:00https://www.sensors.co.uk/category-sitemap.xml 2020-07-30T11:11:51+00:00https://www.sensors.co.uk/post_tag-sitemap.xml 2020-07-30T11:11:51+00:00https://www.sensors.co.uk/author-sitemap.xml 2019-01-11T12:32:56+00:00

However, when I view it in my own browser it all appears correctly.

Could someone help identify what may be causing this?

    Hello @sams1012,

    Thanks for reaching out!

We visited your XML sitemap index at https://www.sensors.co.uk/sitemap_index.xml and we can confirm that it is not displaying properly though it is available when you view the page source.

Caching can be a possible reason for this. So we recommend that if you have a cache plugin or server-side cache, please clear the cache. It seems you have W3 Total Cache. If the issue remains, please disable and re-enable the sitemap feature to force a cache reset. Most cache plugins allow you to exclude the sitemap URLs from being cached and/or minified and we would recommend implementing this for the sitemap to prevent any future caching issues.

We also have additional information in regards to excluding the sitemaps from being included in the server cache at the following link: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-cache/

Thanks Maybellyne, I actually tried purging the cache moments after posting this thread and it seemed to do the trick.
