    My XML sitemap doesn’t seem to load at all. It keeps saying “Transferring data” but nothing happens.

    If I stop the page load, and get the source code I see this:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="//www.abrightclearweb.com/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/css/main-sitemap.xsl"?>
    <sitemapindex xmlns="https://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9">

    		<lastmod>2020-06-30T18:14:54+00:00</lastmod>
    	</sitemap>

    		<lastmod>2019-12-05T14:51:44+00:00</lastmod>
    	</sitemap>
    </sitemapindex>

    @abrightclearweb We tried checking on your sitemap at https://www.abrightclearweb.com/sitemap_index.xml and currently the sitemap is loading for us without any issues (see image here).

    If you clear your cache (server, plugin/theme, browser, or CDN such as Cloudflare) does this resolve the issue? If you are not sure how to clear your server cache you should speak with your host provider. We have information on how to clear your browser cache at the following link: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-clear-my-browsers-cache/.

    @devnihil Cleared all the caches, and the sitemap loads in Chrome and Edge. In Firefox, which is my primary browser, it only loads in private browsing mode.

    Am I right in thinking that I can no longer edit what goes into the sitemap with the free Yoast SEO plugin?

    @abrightclearweb We also checked the sitemap in Firefox (I’m on Mac OS, Firefox version 78.0.2) and it still opened for me without any issue (see image here). Can you please confirm that Firefox is up to date on your computer, and which OS you are using?

    As for editing the sitemap, you can control what content types are included in the sitemap in the settings located in the SEO>Search Appearance area. To customize what types of pages or content are included in the sitemap you would need to perform the following steps:

      ? In WordPress, go to SEO>Search Appearance
      ? Click on the appropriate tab to add or remove certain post types from the search results. Setting ‘Show in search results?‘ will include it in the sitemap, and will the robots meta tag will be set to index, follow. Removing a post/page/taxonomy type from the search results will also remove them from the sitemap, and be set to noindex.
      ? Click ‘Save Changes.’

    You can also control which pages/posts are included in the sitemap at the page level as well. You can set this by performing the following actions:

      ? Go to the Edit screen for a page/post
      ? Scroll down to the Yoast Metabox
      ? Click on the ‘Advanced‘ area
      ? For ‘Allow search engines to show this in search results?‘ make sure this is set to ‘Yes’ to include is the sitemap
      Note (setting this value to Yes will set meta robots to index and setting No would set meta robots to noindex)
      ? Click ‘Update‘ to save changes

    Thanks. I’m using Firefox 78.0.2 (64-bit) on Windows 10 Home.

    Enhanced Tracking Protection is off for this site.

    Might be a browser add-on that’s interfering. I can’t seem to load XML sitemaps on any site, including Yoast’s.

    @abrightclearweb Please let us know whether you are able to view the sitemap in Firefox if you disable browser extensions.
