We use a custom modified date for the front end of our site so that it is only incremented for a major change as opposed to minor punctuation changes and the like.

Is there any filter to allow me to replace the post-modified value with my custom modified date in the XML sitemap?

We have a number of filters available for modifying the sitemap here: https://developer.yoast.com/features/xml-sitemaps/api/

Unfortunately we can’t offer support on custom code. Since we don’t want to take the risk that we break your website by suggesting incorrect or incomplete code, we cannot advise you on how to make such changes. Maybe someone watching these forums can assist you further, but if your topic is inactive for 7 days, we’ll mark it as resolved to keep the overview.

    Thank you for your understanding.

I didn’t ask for support for custom code. I asked if you had a specific filter for a specific purpose. Since the page you linked doesn’t include anything like it, the answer seems to be simply no, you don’t have a filter for the date in the sitemap.xml files.

    Hello Dane,

Currently, there is no filter to replace the post-modified value with a custom modified date in the XML sitemap.

    Thanks!
