Before I start, I want to mention that I have checked this problem by deactivating the plugins switching themes, trying to recreate the issue. The issue is still there regarding of what combination of plug-ins themes I use or not. I also checked the problem on another site, running the same theme and the problem doesn’t exist there. This makes me believe, that I have a problem with my installation. I have used a plugin called “autoptimize” I believe this plugin is the cause of this problem, I have deleted the plugin but the problem is still there.

I can’t see my sitemap anymore so it shows as a (blank page) and even if I go in the source code in the browser the code line is empty.

Google Search Console doesn’t see my sitemap anymore, so I really don’t know where the issue is.

I have tried to see if another sitemap plug-in would see the sitemap but the same error occurs.

Please help, I’m trying to understand what happened and how can I solve it.

Whereas the XML Sitemap should dynamically update after any modification to it, if the site or server is caching the sitemap this can cause it to not update right away. We also have additional information on this at the following link: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/sitemap-does-not-update/. If you are seeing the sitemap as blank, we would recommend checking your caching settings and to ensure that the sitemap is being excluded from the cache.

If you are still experiencing an issue with the sitemap after checking your caching settings, you can also force a cache reset by temporarily disabling the sitemap feature, and then re-enabling. To do so please perform the following steps:

      ?In WordPress go to SEO>Features
?For ‘XML Sitemaps’ Toggle the switch to ‘Disabled.’
      ??Click ‘Save Changes.’
?Toggle the switch back to ‘Enabled.’
      ?Click ‘Save Changes.’

?We also have a guide on how to enable/disable XML Sitemaps here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/enable-xml-sitemaps-in-the-wordpress-seo-plugin/

Can you please try the aforementioned suggestions and letting us know whether it resolves your issue and you are able to successfully update and load the sitemap?

    Hello!

Thank you for your guidelines very useful when it comes about explaining me what could be the problem. I couldn’t resolve the issues.

I have done the followings so far:

    1: I tried a force cache reset
    2: I tried a force cache reset without plug-ins and 2017 theme.
3: Verify all plug-ins for cache options, no plugins with such an option
4: Contacted Godaddy, asking about cacheing at their end, they flushed the cache and then they looked into the problem, the end result being that there is a problem with the plug-in the actual XML Sitemap file doesn’t seem to exist.

In this situation what should I do?

Thank you so far for your help!

You can try to refer to this KB article and see how you can troubleshoot further with the blank sitemap — https://kb.yoast.com/kb/my-sitemap-is-blank-what-s-wrong/

If that still doesn’t help, it might be that the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.
