XML-RPC Error

  • When logging into my wordpress account, the wait is more than eight minutes, and after finally loading, I get an error message at the top of my dashboard saying “XML-RPC Error:-32300:transport error – could not open socket: 110 Connection timed out”. This has never happened before and it has slowed administrating to a crawl. If anyone knows of the reason or a fix, please inform me.

  • Has your host changed anything at all?
    If you have changed nothing it could well be a change on their side.

    I have just come across this issue myself, I am running the 2.1 release. My admin section has grinded to a halt, and PWJ Version Check is outputing:-

    “XML-RPC Error:-32300:transport error – HTTP status code was not 200”

    I did find though if you disable PWP WordPress Version Check plugin, WordPress seems to function correctly again.

    Any other ideas, I’d be grateful if anyone knows what has caused this, and get my version checker running again.
