Hi there, we are getting RSS feed errors, which started with our recent add of the Yoast Seo Plugin ( this is the only change on the website since the error started). Error code in validation screen reads as follows.

Server returned HTTP Error 304: Not Modified

line 1, column 0: XML parsing error: :1:0: no element found

We haven’t made any other code changes, or plugin adjustments. We are using cloudflare CDN, wp rocket, and perfmatters. The Feed file, https://www.polkadotsandpixiedust.com/feed/ loads and looks fine, but didn’t pass validation and isn’t being pulled into the sites where we have the rss feed automated. Let me know if there is a setting or something in Yoast that I need to adjust.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @rochellemariah

Thanks for reaching out regarding your RSS feed. I validated your RSS feed in a couple of validators but got a different error across validators:

column 0:?content:encoded should not contain fetchpriority attribute

Kindly deactivate Yoast SEO plugin and re-validate.

Thanks for this follow up. I deactivated Yoast, and got this below… I plan to still use yoast, is there some sort of setting i need to change? So i can reactivate it again?

This feed is valid, but interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations.

Yoast SEO isn’t responsible for generating RSS feeds so it’s not likely the errror is due to our plugin. If you’re using a plugin to manage your RSS feed, you may reach out to the plugin developer or post here for further assistance.

Hi there, thanks so much, we are not using a plugin to manage feeds so wouldn’t be able to go that route. When we disabled Yoast the feed worked fine, so we’ll routinely deactivate it until we find a non conflicting seo solution. Thanks.
