XML import/export of page tags?

  • I’m relatively new to WP. I have a WP blog, and another non-WP (homebrew) website I’m converting over to WP. I have some code I’ve written to do the conversion for me. The code generates an XML file than can be imported into WP. For the most part, this works fine.

    What I haven’t figured out is how to assign tags to pages in the XML file.

    I’ve exported the posts and pages on my WP blog so I have an example of what the XML file should look like. The file contains post tags, but it doesn’t contain page tags. They’re ignored.

    I also have the BackWPUp plugin, but it also has the same problem: it doesn’t backup page tags to XML.

    Is there a way to do page tags in the XML file?
