    Hello Pam.

    If you are seeing the ajax xml response this usually means that something is failing after the request has returned and before the page is displayed. (Often a custom theme function or other plugin processing)

    If this is the case then after pressing start then failing , try reloading the page and you should then see the second page indicating that the initial request succeeded but it did not get to the display.

    If this is correct try temporarily disabling other plugins and also change the theme to the default to see if the cause can be located.

    Can you try that please and let me know what you get ?

    Did this also happen before installing the pro version ?

    I assume that the workflow id = 1 is an unmodified demo workflow. (If not please try an unmodified demo workflow)
