XML "Failure to import" and "Invalid post type" errors on subdomain

    Just started having issues importing a file. The file imports just find on
    8 sites that do not have subdomain. It worked on this site till about
    little over a week ago. I added debug to import. This is the message I get

    1:7 XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document. Even
    deleteing site and trying to import this file or one of 3 others all fail
    with this message. But they all import with out problems on single domains.

    Details are shown above. The importer will now try again with a different
    parser…
    Failed to import author . Their posts will be attributed to the current
    user.

    Nothing gets imported. Before it would ask for Authors.
    Any ideas?

  • “Invalid Post Type” is likely do to trying to import a post type that doesn’t exist on the new site. For example, if your old site was using a plugin called Testimonials that registered a new post type ‘testimonials’, that same plugin needs to be active on the new site before trying to import posts of that type.
