• I just XHTML validated my entire web site at https://www.webebroke.com. I did so by eliminating some charts and graphs created in MS Word and saved as gif files using Snagit. These charts/graphs alone were creating dozens of error messages. Any reason why?

  • M$ Word is not an application for the web. That’s why.

Before I learned how to code things myself, I would sometimes use Word. If you do use Word to make HTML, don’t “Save As” a webpage. They have a “Save As” option that says something like “Website – Condensed” or something like that. Use that option for far better code.

    But as Moshu says…

If the charts are gif files created with Snagit (basically a snapshot of the computer screen), why would it matter?

Anyway, do you recommend a specific web application for creating basic charts/graphs.

    Thanks,

Well, in that case show us an example when putting a simple gif file in a post is causing tons of errors…
