• followed carefully the instructions … but reached a point where an error 200 seemed to slam the door in my face. (I’m told that is more of a warning than an error, but it did seem to terminate the expected process/dialogs/etc.

    I understand that a too-good-to-be-true FREE alternative when migrating a site may have been just that. Author/developer realized belatedly that their time was more valuable than that “business model” made workable, hence sold to someone else.

    It wouldn’t be the first time that a new owner let the air out of the tires (or didn’t bother keeping them inflated), so I wonder if that’s the case here.

    As best I know my 2 hosts are both plain vanilla Linux ones – Hostagator and A2Hosting, with the latter being the “target”/remote one.

    Hello,

    Have you tried to check your server error logs and see if there’s anything recorded when that error 200 gets thrown?
