  • Same exact problem. I notice that in order to get the visual toolbars to show up I have to click on the html tab, then back to the visual tab.

    Setup is as follows:

WordPress ver: 3.3.1 (local pc installation)
    wysiwyg-widgets ver: 1.2
    current page/post editor: CKEditor 3.6.2

Similar problem, same result. I can’t insert any images into the widget, and text doesn’t save. The widget itself saves as an empty box.

It appears to be in conflict with Dynamic Widgets plugin, and TinyMCE Advanced plugin. When I turn deactivate both, I can insert images and text, and save. However, if I want to change anything after I’ve saved it, it keeps refreshing with the old data – saving again doesn’t work.

    WordPress 3.3.1
    WYSIWYG-widgets 1.2
    Editor: TinyMCE

Hi Alex, rossman66, babbsela and Blackangelsaveena.

I was aware of the compatibility problems with WYSIWYG Widgets and thus decided to totally rewrite the plugin and take a completely different approach.

Please download version 2, it should address all issues and is sure to work on WP3.1 and later.

Let me know how that worked for all of you.

BE SURE TO READ THE NOTES – YOU WILL LOSE YOUR OLD WIDGETS — BACK THEM UP!!!!

I lost a half day restoring backups and trying to undo the mess of losing all my WYSIWYG widgets on several sites because I did the update through Infinite WP and didn’t know it clobbered everything until it was too late! Hopefully this post will help someone avoid the same fate.
