• I am getting this error when I switched from my PayPal Sandbox account to a Live PayPal account. I have tried two different ‘live’ PayPal accounts and am getting the same results. Everything processed ok when using my Sandbox PayPal account. Now, I want to do a final test before going live with the new website. I changed my store settings under Payment to reflect my live PayPal account, and chose the ‘Live Account’ option. On the new website, when I click on Purchase from my Checkout page, I get the error: “The https://www.paypal.com page isn’t working. https://www.paypal.com is currently unable to handle this request.”

When I first installed WP ecommerce plugin, I used the live account and it seemed to work ok. I made additional changes to my store and wanted to test those changes using my Sandbox account. So, I changed my store settings to use my sandbox account. It worked ok. Now, when I go back to my live account I get this error message.

    Any ideas?

  • I am having the same exact problem on two separate websites using WP Ecommerce.

I used my client’s PayPal account details from his settings panel and got an error about header being invalid.

Then, I changed to my sandbox details the checkout worked.

Then, I asked him to ask PayPal to renew his API credentials. I used those, and I got a page not working error.

Then, I used my own live API credentials from my account and got the same error.

This is so incredibly frustrating. I hope someone checks this thread soon and comes up with a solution, because the PayPal API keys are just not working.

This was a very frustrating error as there was no ‘clues’ provided.

I finally nailed it to being browser-related. I tried another browser and it worked.

So, then I went back to Chrome (the original browser this error appeared in), cleared my cache and it worked.

I probably should have thought of doing that sooner.

I don’t know if you’ll experience the same thing but am passing it along in case it helps.

I’ll try that. I of course did that many times already. I’ll try another browser first and see what happens. Thanks.
