www and non www

WP does that by default, normally. Since mine didn’t (perhaps because of the multi setup), I use this:

Make sure to put the code somewhere on top of the htaccess file.

Roy, it’s not necessarily the multi-setup. If you set your site as NON www from the get-go, back when it’s single site, it generally works fine and carries through. If at any point your site was www’d though…

WordPress can only have ONE master domain. It’s EITHER https://www.domain.com OR it’s domain.com. That’s it. You don’t get both. It works that way on single site.

Ok then how to setup www with sub domain Multisite?

What are you trying to do?

You don’t WANT to have separate sites with www and non www.

You pick one to be your default (non-www is best in my experience and opinion). You get WordPress redirect the other to it. Then you make your subdomains as subdomain.domain.com

i was trying to add www b4 subdomains also, like https://www.subdomain.domain.com. But now I can see you are recommending the non-www version, well I can continue with this and add one 301 redirection from www to non www so that google can index my canonical url only.
