I installed a block builder plug-in yesterday following which my WP-dashboard and site are showing WSOD. I do not have log in details to connect to files via FTP to begin troubleshooting such as disabling all plug-ins outside of the dashboard?

  • Can you confirm it’s the whole site and not just the front end? Visit yourdomain.com/wp-admin

Do you have access to your hosting account? Many have cPanel or something similar, that include a “File Manager” You “should” be able to browse through the files using that.

The newer version of WordPress should send the site admin a recovery email – “Your Site is Experiencing a Technical Issue” which will send a special link – “WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigates further. Maybe you can check your spam folder to see if you receive this.

I hope something here might help. If you can’t get in the backend the file manager or FTP would be your only way to fix this.

It’s the whole site. I can log into WP-admin dashboard and it is also blank (though I can see code when right click and ‘inspect’).

I don’t have access to the hosting account (I inherited looking after the website and have only been concerned with accessing the WP admin dashboard). I don’t know how to identify and access the hosting account.

I’ve not received an admin recovery email (no message sitting in spam or quarantine either).

Managed to delete the plugin that was causing the conflict via the FTP. Now resolved. thank you
